One woman's journey to invent sustainable rehabilitation for people in early recovery and release from prison

A documentary by Holo Film
in collaboration with United Recovery Fund

coming summer 2024

"In twenty-first century America, previously incarcerated people and individuals healing from substance use disorder must confront a vast and perplexing array of social and economic issues in order to rebuild their lives, all while facing stigma that prevents access to employment and re-integration within communities.

Margo Walsh has a solution. As the founder of MaineWorks, a B-corp certified
employment agency based in Portland, Maine, she has journeyed through her own recovery to realize how the process of rehabilitation has been approached ineffectively. Healing does not happen by denying our darkness, but by warmly confronting and pushing through it. This reframing has allowed her to innovate a program that builds bridges through systemic crises and has the potential to change society’s fight against recidivism forever."
